Abstract: This work intends to bring to light a discussion on the reaches and limits of the participative politics in programs of environmental conservation, as well as to reflect whether the emphasis on the local knowledge and the social participation has really been producing, in its dynamics of implementation, alterations in the structures of power and in the knowledge systems.
