Abstract: The main objective of this article is to analyze how the federal universities from the state of Minas Gerais have being legitimating the variable called “multidisciplinar variable” which is present at the “Quality Benchmarks for Distance Education” document in their courses. Taking account that the questions related to quality attributed to the teaching methodologies do not prevail attributed only to the teaching tools, this article made a delineation in order to promote the valorization of the people involved at the distance teaching (EaD), referring in this case to the multidisciplinary team which is composed for the professors, tutors and the technical-administrative staff. In methodological terms this research presents as a qualitative approach, in this sense the documental and bibliographical research and the research in loco with interviews were done. The interviews were focused on the strategic people, which ones are directors from the eleven Federal Universities from the state of Minas Gerais – Brazil surveyed. As result, according to the respondents perceptions it was found that the professor’s overwok, the inability to earn scholarships, the deficiency of professors, the lackness of tutors in specific areas, the need of commitment and the shortage of a staff team were the critical factors which have committed most the good conditions. This results points that the universities need to invest in procedures capable enough to endue the multidisciplinary team about the requirements needs to offer a quality distance education.
