Resumo: Endophytic microorganisms live at least part of their life cycle inside plant tissues, without causing apparent damage to the host. Endophytic species of the genus Muscodor are reported as endophytic producers of bioactive metabolites with potential for application in the pharmaceutical industry. Thus, in the present work, extracts from the culture of endophytic fungi isolated from coffee plants, M. coffeanum (CML 4009, CML 4010, and CML 4020) and M. yucatanensis (CML 4016), were prospected in enzyme modulation tests that act in human hemostasis. The fungi were grown in ME broth (Malt Extract), the mycelium separated by filtration, and the supernatant added to ethyl acetate in the proportion of 1: 0.5 (supernatant/ethyl acetate) to extract the compounds by rotary evaporation. The dry extracts were diluted in Dimethylsulfoxide P.A., 99.9% (DMSO) and then tested, in which Bothrops atrox venom was used as an enzyme source and tool to induce the activities. Prior to the evaluation of the activities, incubations of the extracts with the venom were performed in the proportions 1: 0.01, 1: 0.25, 1: 0.5, and 1: 1 (venom: extract; mass: mass). The extracts of all fungi promoted a significant increase in the clotting time induced by the venom, especially when incubated with blood plasma. The activity of phospholipases A2 did not change significantly when evaluated in the presence of fungal extracts. Thus, it is possible to suggest the presence of specific interactions between molecules present in extracts and venom proteases.
