Abstract: The objective of this work is to report an experiment carried out in the discipline of Science Teaching Methodology of the Licentiate course in Biological Sciences, Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Minas Gerais. The experience was configured in the construction of a formative activity in order to build knowledge about the Origin and Transformation of the Earth. For the development of the activity was used a mythical Guarani narrative and a series of images arranged in cardboard to address one the question of land transformation. After the activity was developed, participants were asked to discuss the strengths and points to be improved. These approaches were analyzed from discourse analysis. After the analysis one can see that, the constructed practice was interesting for the initial formation of teachers, because it allows the construction of knowledge about the teaching performance. This knowledge permeates elements such as pedagogical resources and evaluation method.
