Resumo: The tasks performed by a teacher go beyond the limits of the classroom and, consequently, of the school itself, since the teaching actions are reflected in the students' social experience, in the face of the most diverse situations offered and demanded by society. Therefore, this research consists of a study about the exchange of experiences on the social role that involves teaching work, and the checks are carried out through the analysis of posts present in the context of social media on the internet. For that, Facebook was used as the base media for the explorations developed and the WeAreTeachers page as the locus of investigation. The general objective of this study was to analyze the perception of the users of this page about their social roles in the teaching process. This perception is related to the educators' awareness of their roles in relation to their work and their perceptions about their professional and, consequently, social actions. Under this bias, referential studies by authors such as Almeida Filho (2010), Celani (2008), Cerutti-Rizzatti; Rodrigues (2011), Gatti (2013), Jordão (2016), Miccoli (2013), Moita Lopes (2006), Rajagopalan (2003), among others. Some legislative provisions were also adopted as references, such as the 1988 Federal Constitution, the provisions arising from the National Education Guidelines and Bases, as well as the PCN. The study was part of the field of research with a qualitative approach, of an exploratory and interpretative nature, having as a method for data collection the characteristics of a documentary research and as a technique of data analysis the elaboration of categories. That said, given the studies and analyzes carried out through the selected posts, it was noticed that the social role of the teacher is seen in the posts found on WeAreTeachers, which demonstrated the commitment of the page and users involved with education and teaching of quality.
