Abstract: This study aims to determine the total dynamic head reduction provided by the rotation speed adjustment of the center pivot pumping unit. The EPANET software was used to simulate the head spatial distribution along the lateral line, seeing eighteen lateral line angular positions of a center pivot located in Formiga/MG. In this way it was possible to determine at each angular position the value of the pump speed which would result in a minimum head on the lateral line exactly equal to the minimum head value required for proper operation of the valves. This study showed 41% of total dynamic head reduction, provided by the adjustment of pump speed, in the different angular positions of the lateral line.
