Abstract: Aiming to use the waters of high salinity from shallow wells, with minimal losses in crop production developed this work by evaluating the interaction effect between levels of salinity and nitrogen fertilizer on grass production in Tanzania. The treatments consisted of the combination of five levels of salinity (0.5, 1.5, 3.0, 4.5 and, 6.0 dS m-1 ), and four levels of nitrogen (0, 0.8, 1.6 and 2.3 g pot-1 ), using a randomized block design with four replications. Evaluated the production components Leaf area, fresh weight and, dry mass weight of leaves. Significant effect for the interaction of salinity and N levels for all production components and crude protein so that was raised as the salinity level production was reduced, but to the level of salinity 3.0 dS m-1 N rates allowed for a smaller reduction ratio. It was also found that irrigation with high salt inhibited the beneficial effect of nitrogen on the growth of grass tanzania.
