Abstract: Cloning of F1 hybrids of Coffea arabica L. may represent a significant reduction of time and resources spent in breeding programs. Aiming at obtaining a methodology that allows efficient cloning of C. Arabica by using stem cutting of plants, two experiments were conducted in a greenhouse with automatic misting system. Coffee cuttings of cultivar ‘Rubi’ were used. The experiment tested the efficiency of root bed heating, exogenous supply of sucrose (30 g L-1) and six concentrations of IBA in rooting and seedling formation. The evaluations were carried out at 45, 90 and 180 days after installation. The results showed that sucrose did not have a positive effect on any of the analyzed variables. Root bed heating was effective for ‘Rubi’. Bed heating associated with IBA did not increase the total percentage of ‘Rubi’ rooted cuttings; nevertheless, it increased the number of roots and the dry matter of roots and shoots of seedlings.
