Abstract: The seasonal deciduous forests compose important ecotones distributed over the biomes of the Cerrado and the Caatinga. This peculiar structure contains great richness of species, important in the environmental sci-entific and social context. This study sampled an area of 1.2 ha which were established 30 plots of 400 m2. Were sampled 1083 individuals belonging to 107 species of 32 botanical families. Combretum duarteanum Cambess., Eugenia uniflora L. and Sapium glandulosum (L.) Morong were the most abundant species, with 197, 127 and 86 individuals registered, respectively. The families with the highest number of species were Fabaceae, Bignoniaceae, Anacardiaceae and Myrtaceae, corroborating accomplished studies in other frag-ments with similar coverage. The considerable richness of species found reinforces the importance of this for-est type, justifying the need for more detailed studies.
