Abstract: Although it is undeniable to expand the possibilities of participation, it is necessary to expand the channels so that social influence to occur continuously and may involve a larger part of the society. Considered as facilitating instruments to promote social participation through the internet, social interaction applications have been spreading and have been increasingly used by the population. That said, this research aimed to analyze the attributes and the intensity of technological acceptance of the "Meu Vereador" application, as well as its possible relations with social participation. Besides the convenience, the choice for this research object was because the app had a rapid spread and use in the city of Belo Horizonte, since its launch in 2017/2018. Concerning methodological procedures, this research is classified as mixed (qualitative and quantitative). As research results, it was found that some of the crucial attributes for the social participation were mainly due to transparency, accountability, trust, security, citizen involvement, speed, in addition to other elements that impact the individual's adoption of technology. Besides, a guidance manual for the elaboration of social interaction platforms was prepared considering the findings of this study. Finally, it is expected that the discussion of these attributes and challenges present in the proposal for digital government and the use of information technology will serve as a basis for building more accessible, dynamic and pluralistic platforms.
