Abstract: The strength training can be used in order to improve neuromuscular function, adaptations can be observed in the maximal strength, recognized by the medical and scientific communities it´s as key to promoting health and improving quality of life. Objectives: check the relationship between dynamic and isometric strength in the bench press exercise (horizontal, inclined and declined) in adult male bodybuilders of an academy in the city to Perdões, Minas Gerais. Methods: eleven males subjects experienced in resistance training (3.7 ± 3.2 years, 75.1 ± 12.6 kg, 173.7 cm, 9.8 ± 3.6%), were tested in bench press for 1RM and maximal voluntary isometric contraction. Statistical analysis between the different angles of the bench press and the different manifestations of strength using paired t tests, (p <0.05). Results: the results in the isometric and dynamic tests in the bench press were: horizontal dynamic (93.45 ± 27.62 kg) with isometric bench press (162.59 ± 17.68 kg), incline dynamic (80.18 ± 19 kg) with incline isometric (155 ± 11.35 kg), bench declined dynamic (100.36 ± 25.67 kg) with isometric bench declined (163.81 ± 14.97 kg). Conclusions: according to the results presented in this paper can be stated that there was a significant difference between the results obtained for each bench press (horizontal, inclined and declined) in relation to tests isometric and dynamic strength. Therefore, claims that the cause of this difference between high loads is the result of anthropometric and biomechanical those directly interfere with the performance of movements. However, the isometric exercises can be used as well as people in neuromuscular rehabilitation also for those who want a better activation of the muscles involved in the exercises.
