Abstract: Flexibility is a fundamental physical ability to perform well in various sports activities, among them swimming. Owing to this theme relevance, this study aimed to evaluate the flexibility in a swimming group presenting 10 to 15 years old. To measure the flexibility of seven joints during 19 articular movements it was used the WCS® goniometer. It was evaluated young persons from both genders with a mean age of 12,70 ± 1,45. A significant correlation could be observed only in two articular movements (hip abduction and shoulder abduction), where the mean values were higher for boys. In conclusion, boys presented larger flexibility than girls, considering the number of joints evaluated, differing from previous studies in the literature.
