Resumo: This work aims to promote a critical reflection on the Brazilian educational system, based on white supremacy and its implication for the two-ness in the identity of black English teachers in Brazil. Therefore, in this essay, we emphasize the importance of a critical education that subverts the power relations imposed by the master’s house, which was the only holder of the right to education. In this way, critical education allows English teachers in Brazil to dismantle the master’s house, valuing their racial identity and that of the ir students in the face of English as a Lingua franca today.
