Abstract: Investigating whether aesthetic experiences allow problematizing issues related to the production of identities and differences in the context of Early Childhood Education required a plunge into post-structuralist references, in the pedagogies, and sociology of childhoods to problematize the words of children from their contact with the arts. Conducting research involving this age group, is doing it with children and not about them, which is why countless challenges are placed in the researcher's interactions with the field. Fundamental questions for the development of the research emerged from this process: how to stop being a foreign body in that space? How to provide space-times in which children have a time and a voice? How to do this listening exercise? Thus, it is concluded that there is an urgent need for a political look in the field of research methodologies with children, given the urgency to know the cultures of children from their multiple languages.
