| Abstract: | The aim of this paper is to analyze the presence of a seasonal component on the electricity demand in Rio Grande do Sul, considering the three main consumer sections: residential, commercial and industrial. We used monthly data from January 2004 to December 2019 in order to perform some exploratory and descriptive statistical analyses, such as: line and box plots and descriptive measures, in addition to parametric and nonparametric analysis of variance for paired data. A seasonal component was identified in all analyzed time series, and thus models that contemplate this behavior in its modeling process may be considered. |
