Abstract: In order to guarantee good chickpea production, it is necessary to use good quality seeds, being essential the tests that determine the vigor of these seeds. Among the vigor tests, the electrical conductivity test stands out for being fast, low cost, high repeatability, and efficient in differentiating vigor levels of various species. Thus, the objective of this study was to adjust the electrical conductivity test to evaluate the vigor of chickpea seed lots. The moisture content and weight of one thousand seeds of the lots, germination, germination speed index, first germination count, emergence, emergence speed index and initial stand for batch characterization were determined. To determine the periods to be tested in the electrical conductivity test, the soak curve was constructed. The electrical conductivity test was performed in a 4 x 4 x 4 factorial scheme, with four lots in four soaking periods (4, 8, 12 and 16h), with four volumes of distilled and deionized water (50, 75, 100 and 125). mL). It was concluded that the electrical conductivity test is efficient to differentiate chickpea seed lots from cultivar BRS Aleppo, using subsamples of 25 seeds in 75 mL, during the preconditioning period of 8 hours.
