Abstract: | The present work presents as its theme reading and writing practices mediated by digital technologies. Digital technologies are present in different social practices and through them, subjects perform daily tasks both in the personal and social spheres. Interact in virtual social networks, write, send messages, communicate synchronously or asynchronously; they read news, books, edit videos, take pictures, publish; access applications for entertainment, payments, shopping, etc., in short, becoming a network society (LÉVY, 1993; 1998;1999). Given this context, this paper analyzes the Wattpad application, as a pedagogical resource for working in the classroom, considering that contemporary reading and writing practices are aligned with different technologies, and allow teachers and students, in connection, to can interact, integrated into the digital world. In addition, pedagogical practices mediated by digital technologies enable the subjects involved in the teaching-learning process to expand digital literacy. This research has the general objective of understanding the potential of Wattpad as a resource for working with reading and writing practices in high school. To achieve the presented objective, this study proposes: (i) to analyze the linguistic, pedagogical and technological aspects that make up Wattpad; (ii) understand the relevance of digital technologies as resources for teaching and learning; (iii) discuss technology-mediated reading and writing. The research is based on thinkers such as: Rojo; Moura (2012), Vieira (2012; 2013), Reis; Gomes (2014), Reis (2017), Costa; Coelho; Tavares (2020), Chartier (1994), Soares (2002), Silva; De Faria; Almeida (2018), Ribeiro (2021), Coscarelli; Novais (2010), Almeida; Cerigatto (2016), Brasil (2018), among others. Methodologically, this is a bibliographical review of academic works in Portuguese, on the possible uses of digital technologies, in particular Wattpad, as pedagogical strategies for teaching reading and writing. Furthermore, of an exploratory nature, an attempt was made to analyze the Wattpad application regarding linguistic, pedagogical and technological aspects (REIS; GOMES, 2014; REIS, 2017). The research showed that Wattpad offers multimodal resources to develop the teaching-learning process with regard to reading and writing in a digital context. However, it is pertinent that the teacher knows the potential resources available on the platform, considering evaluation criteria that cover the linguistic, pedagogical and technological dimensions. |
