Abstract: The definition of "polyglossia" (raznorétchie), elaborated by Mikhail Bakhtin, has consolidated itself as an important methodological tool and still little used by scholars, mainly for historical, cultural and literary research. Understanding-or, initially, as the “discourse of the other in the language of the other” (BAKHTIN, 2015, p. 11), this study aims to deepen this understanding. For this, it is intended to make a dialogue between this term and other concepts such as: identity, culture, cultural heritage and affection. We took as an object of analysis the cultural manifestation of congado, cultural and religious expression that involves singing, dancing, theater and Christian and African spiritualities in the city of Cana Verde, Minas Gerais, where the creative process of songs and aspects So that we can guarantee that this manifestation lasts until today.
