Abstract: This study analyzed the concentration of exports and world production of pulp and Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and its degree of concentration. The data used are available in FAO. To measure and analyze the concentration were used six indicators of concentration: the concentration ratio, the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index, the Entropy Index Theil, the Hall and Tideman index, Comprehensive Concentration Index and the Gini index. For exports of pulp a growth trend was observed with reduction in concentration, but this is still considered high. As well as exports, pulp production grew significantly in the period and its concentration also tended to decrease but it is still classified as high. As for world exports of MDF, they showed an upward trend, and only in two years, 2006 and 2009 were recorded declines in exports and its concentration was classified as moderately high to moderately low, but with a downward trend over the years. The production of MDF showed an upward trend during the study period, probably influenced by internal and external economy of producing and consuming countries since its use is reflected, for example, increased income and development of a society. In addition, a trend of increasing concentration of world production of MDF was observed, especially in the early 2000. For all products, both for production and for export, there was an increase in the number of active countries in the market, which does not allowed the concentration to increase and inequality were reduced to low levels.
