Abstract: In this work we studied the fundamentals of qu antum field theory an d, on this basis, we investigate an extension of Quantum Electro dynamics with Lorentz and gauge symmetry explicitly broken. The Lorentz symmetry violation is implemented by space-time anisotropy intro duced by a constant tensor, while the violation of Gauge symmetry is achieved by the intro duction of mass terms for photon . In this extension of the Stand ard Mo del we use the No ether dualization metho d to recover the gauge symmetry . We show that the d ualized theory is a physically equivalent formulation to the original mo del without the gauge symmetry. The physical quantities calculated from these two mo dels s hould pro duce the same results. Thus, we chose a physical quantity in which we explore this equivalence: the cross section of a Möller scattering.
