Abstract: Isolations from common bean anthracnose lesions have allowed obtaining strains of Colletotrichum lindemuthianum and Glomerella ssp. Studies have demonstrated from morphological, cytological and molecular characterizations, the extensive variability in these species, separating them into distinct clades. However, there is no information about the chromosome number and the existence of polymorphism among different strains of these species. Thus, this study aimed to obtain karyotypes of different strains of C. lindemuthianum and Glomerella spp. isolated from anthracnose lesionsof bean plants andverify the presence of chromosomal polymorphism between strains of the two species and the occurrence of accessory chromosomes. For this, eight strains belonging to the races 65, 73, 81, 89 and 2047 of C. lindemuthianum, and five strains of Glomerella spp. were used. To obtain the karyotype of the strains, two complementary techniques were used to characterize chromosomes, the Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE), and the cytological analysis by Germ Tube Burst Method (GTBM).The PFGE and GTBM techniques allowed the karyotyping of strains ofboth species. There was chromosomal polymorphism between and within the evaluated strains. The chromosome number ranged from five to 14 for the strains of C. lindemuthianum and six to 12 for the strains of Glomerella spp.
