Abstract: A major problem today is the improper disposal of solid waste in the soil, and its effects fall mainly in the contamination of water and soil. This work aimed to study the sorption and mobility of lithium in soil disposal areas of solid waste from Lavras, Campo Belo and Pouso Alegre, Brazil. From the batch sorption tests and Li mobility in soil columns, set up the parameters of the Freundlich isotherms and the equation of solute transport in soil. The results obtained showed that, among the soils evaluated, the city of Lavras showed the increased mobility of Li followed by Pouso Alegre and Campo Belo soils, and are therefore more vulnerable to groundwater contamination.
