Resumo: Since the first models of motorized combat robot, it was realized the importance of studying the aerodynamics. The analysis of aerodynamics in this type of robot directly affects the performance, speed, efficiency, and the cooling of the engine compartment. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a practical and reliable technique to make simulations, dispensing many tests of experimental tests. The objective of this study was to validate a computational model in computational fluid mechanics (CFD) for the prediction of temperature and air velocity of a combat robot, aiming at improvements in the heat dissipation of the engines. Thus, the study was divided into three stages: a) In the first, an evaluation of the aerodynamic characteristics of the combat robot was carried out; b) In the second, the operational and aerodynamic conditions of a wind tunnel were evaluated; c) and finally, a 3D computational model of the combat robot was developed and tested. Therefore, it was concluded that the proposed computational model can be used as a useful tool for the development of devices and selection of systems for heat distribution in combat vehicles.
