Abstract: The general objective of this research was to develop a mathematical model based on the theory of fuzzy sets to predict solar heaters efficiency for use in concrete floor heating systems for piglets in the farrowing phase. Therefore, different types of solar heaters are used, two models with conventional solar collecting systems through glass and plastic plates PVC, and a solar collector PET bottles with an alternative thermal storage tank. For evaluation of thermal heaters, temperature sensors (accuracy ± 3% of the reading) are installed in inlet and outlet of each floor and the thermal reservoir. With this data, it developed a fuzzy model where the input variables are the air temperature (°C) and cumulative solar radiation (W/m² 3h) tested. The results showed a good performance of the proposed mathematical model, being an efficient alternative in assistance to decision-making regarding the use of different models of solar heaters in pig production systems.
