Resumo: Mechanical behavior prediction of sloped implants is important in dentistry investigation area and the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is considered an important tool for this end. Stresses and displacements analysis in cone Morse implants with 3.5 mm diameter and abutments with 4.8 mm and 3.8 mm diameter, submitted to compression loads (100 N and 200 N), considering stainless steel base material and cortical bone were performed by using FEA. Three-dimensional models of implants and abutments sloped of 20o and 45o were used and they were submitted to downward compression loads in Y direction. Maximum von Mises stresses presented high values for implant geometries sloped 45o subjected to a load of 200 N. It was also verified that results for implants subjected to a load of 100 N and implants sloped 45o presented higher stress value (574.16 MPa) than literature data, which represented a difference around 8.7%. It was also observed that high sloping implant abutment assemblies (45o ) presented higher stresses and displacements values when compared to low sloped implant abutments (20o ), by using FEA. It demonstrated that FEA is a viable alternative in dentistry area for implants mechanical behavior prediction. For future works, it is proposed studies involving jaw designs with different kinds of implants, varying loading angles. This can validate the proposed methodology for other dentistry situations.
