Abstract: The present work discusses the nature of repetition in written texts produced by children during language acquisition. The study begins with a compilation of theorists who make research on the repetition, aiming at verifying the treatment on the subject. Then, it analyzes the contributions of the interactionist method of language acquisition for the present study. So as to illustrate the discussion, we analyzed three children graphic productions, with the objective to identify marks of repetition and its utilization as argumentative strategy. The theoretical data collected evidence that repetition is not very studied, in spite of its strong incidence in texts produced by children and its proximities with oral texts. In the analysis, we found out that repetition is presented differently in the texts, evidencing different positions in the process of language acquisition, in what is related to the demonstrations of argumentative abilities.
