Abstract: This work was done to analyze the thermal environment in the reduced scale models (1:10) of poultry sheds, equipped with natural and artificial ventilation chamber installed under roof. Thermal comfort was evaluated and classified through black-globe humidity index (BGHI), thermal heat load, relative humidity and effectiveness of roofs in reducing the BGHI in relation to the aluminum roof. Four models built with asbestos tiles and equipped with natural and forced ventilation chambers at the roof were compared with two models constructed with asbestos and aluminum tiles, respectively, without ridge vent. The results showed that incorporation of natural and artificial ventilation chambers under the roof provided better thermal conditions in the reduced scale models of poultry buildings.
