Resumo: There is an important research side about Organizational Commitment (OC), in other words, about link that the individual lays down at his work. This theme has very great relevance because, from reasons comprehension that lead people to stay in one organization, we can think about others context variable. This research analyses different types of OC teachers that work in an university. Analytic model employed is a multidimensional approach by Meyer and Allen (1991). In this model, they are considered three OC dimensions: Affective, Normative and Instrumental. In the first aspect, it relates love, proud and enchantment sentiments. In the second aspect, moral, commitment and belonging sentiment and, in the third, it considers costs and benefits at stay in an organization and momentary lack of work. The participants are teachers that consented answer questionnaire and half structured interviews. The first questionnaire allowed to do a professional profile of the respondents; and the second mensured of organizational commitment dimension. Interviews show deepening of the questionnaire. Data treatment was done from the statistical analysis and content analysis. In the face of the obtained and triangulated data, was possible find out organizational commitment types that there are in the institution and that affective behavior predominates.
