Abstract: This study of a theoretical nature has as the central aim to investigate the possibilities of application of the inductive and deductive methodological stance in the scientific production of the studies in administration and organizations. In inductive research, the general theory (wide) is borne (inferred) from the particular situations while in deductive situations they are deduced from general theory (wide). However, several authors defend that along the centuries both inductive methodological stance and the deductive one singly proved to be insufficient to the support of a scientific project. As an alternative, Popper elaborated a combination of both methodologies to give support to science. The union of these two methods made the creation of the deductive-hypothetical method possible. This work proposes the studies in administration and organizations to be methodized under the guidance of the deductive methodological stance or the hypothetical deductive one (triangulation between induction and deduction) for these being more adequate to the nature and reality of social sciences (domain in which the administrative and organizational studies lie). In following one of these methodological aspects, there would be increased epistemological/methodological rigor and support in the research of this field of knowledge.
