Abstract: Aniba canelilla is a native species from the Amazon region with economic potential in forestry, perfume, and cosmetics production. However, one of the limitations to its domestication is the absence of multiplication methods. In this context, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of explant type and MS culture medium on its establishment in vitro. Apical (1.5 cm) and nodal segments with two buds, isolated from seedlings kept in a greenhouse, were used for in vitro culture. Treatments consisted of two types of explant and six concentrations of culture medium MS salts, supplemented with combinations of 15 or 30 g L–1 of sucrose and disinfectants. Nodal segments were less sensitive to the disinfestation treatments applied and provided the most successful disinfestation, survival, and in vitro establishment of Aniba canelilla.
