| Abstract: | The present article aims to produce a brief historical review of the Tribunal de Contas as an institution that is essential to the regularity of public expenses. A reconstruction from its foundations in the pioneers countries was done and, afterwards, presented its historical and institutional evolution in Brazil. Throughout the exposition there are debates about which ways the accountability courts are taking within our country, as it is noticeable that they are being used in political negotiations. |
