Abstract

Research on nutrition have been increasingly performed as a way to make the system profitable, and remove it from the level of creating alternative properties, making it the main source turtle breeders of income. This literature review has the objective to meet and discuss as many information as possible on the current knowledge about chelonian nutrition, focusing creating animal science. Taking into account all information gathered in this review, some aspects are emphasize, like the fact the great diversity of species of chelonians, and the difference between them, require a greater effort for the establishment of nutritional requirements and protocols for these animals. Knowledge about chelonian nutrition is still in an early stage, so many details are still necessary for us to properly feed these animals in captivity, so you can explore the best possible potential livestock.
