Resumo: The Permanent Preservation Areas (PPA) play a key role in maintaining and preserving water resources. The present work aimed to analyze the conflicting uses of Permanent Preservation Areas around the Funil HPP reservoir in the city of Ijaci – MG. For this, the PPA around the reservoir was segregated in urban and rural areas. Then the use and occupation of the urban APP around the Funil HPP reservoir was determined and the invasion by buildings was identified. Subsequently, the area of PPA delimited was compared as established in the Municipal Development Master Plan, before and after the modification established by Municipal Law 1287/2016. From then on, the same PPA comparison procedure was performed for the specific case of a condominium. It was found that there is a predominance of urban in relation to rural PPA in the of Ijaci city. 101 buildings were accounted, corresponding to an area of 8,400 m², irregularly positioned in the urban PPA. The change in the delimitation of the PPA established by Law 1,287/2016 resulted in a decrease of 23.47% for urban areas, and 73.90% for rural areas. It was also found that the particular case of a condominium, the change established by Law 1287/2016 led to a larger number of buildings within the PPA, from 12 to 31 buildings.
