Resumo: A quasi-experimental study was carried out with the objective of verifying the evolution o f the physical conditioning of the Air Force Academy cadets in the Military Adaptation Stage in 2 0 17 and the effectiveness of the training plan executed by the Section of Physical Education at this stage. The study was conducted at the Air Force Academy, located in Pirassununga, in the interior of São Paulo state. The sample consisted of 150 male cadets, regularly enrolled in Aviation, Intendance and Infantry courses, who were able to practice physical exercises and who consented to participate in the research. Th e study was performed for 40 consecutive days and consisted of an initial evaluation, an intervention wit h p hy sical exercises and a final evaluation. For the initial and final evaluation, the Physical Fitness Assessment Test was used, consisted of push-ups, sit-ups and running. With regard to the intervention, strength training in circuit and training of races were carried out. The results showed that after training in the Military Adaptation Stage of 2017 the military improved significantly the physical condi tio n, wit h an av erage increase of 23.28% (10 repetitions) in the number of push-ups, an increase of 5.95% (3 repetitions) in th e number of sit-ups and an increase of 12.26% (315.4m) in the distance co vered durin g t h e 1 2-minut e running test. Thus, the training protocol performed in this study was effective in improving the p hy sical condition of Air Force Academy Interns. However, it is suggested that future studies be co n duct ed t o answer this question more clearly, using more sophisticated physical tests.
