Reflexões sobre a desigualdade no contexto do desenvolvimento sustentável: da exclusão político-social ao desenvolvimento da personalidade humana

Abstract

This paper aims to demonstrate how inequality impacts on the development of the human personality – from the perspective of the theory of recognition and the hierarchy of needs – and on the participation of individuals in the political field of will-formation. In this context, the research aims to discuss inequality as a structural problem of the society and phenomenon responsible for mitigating human rights. It is intended, based on bibliographical and documentary analyzes, to highlight the need to achieve minimum material conditions as a way to enable individuals to actively and equitably claim their rights. The paper aims to suggest a critical revision of the integrated approach of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Through this revision, it’s aspired to prove the indispensability of prioritizing the materialization of the social dimension of sustainable development as a way of freeing individuals from degrading life conditions and guaranteeing popular organization around human rights claims.
