Aterros sanitários com aproveitamento energético no Brasil: eficiência energética e análise de potencialidades futuras

Abstract

The society seeks more quality of life, as in the past man's survival was merely by natural sources. Before the waste generated were mostly organic, the environment was able to react and transform back into a source of energy for animals and plants today, however, the amount of "junk" discarded by society is substantially higher than the environment's ability to regenerate. The right places used for the disposal of solid waste in Brazil are still scarce, called landfills. The dumps are only to take out the trash from our sight, do not have proper rules and forms management, which causes environmental degradation, besides being a source of disease transmission for those who live around it. The studies will show the evolution of waste and a way to reuse them, as in specific places (landfills) on behalf of society and the environment. All data were obtained from literature searches and queries relating to municipal solid waste, energy use and generation of energy through biogas.
