Abstract: | Anthropic activities, mainly on areas of spring recharging, contribute to the hydrological imbalance, providing, especially the irregular water distribution. The land use with extensive pasture without an adequate management has degraded part of the landscape in southern Minas Gerais state, mainly on more unstable soils environments situated on irregular topography. In this way, the objective of this work was evaluate the physiographical, pedological and topographical properties on estimation of potential for soil water recharging at Posses sub-basin, Extrema country, MG. The soil and topographical properties indicate a medium / good potential for soil water recharge on 62% of the area, which in association with the favorable physiographical properties of this headwater sub-basin suggest a relatively sustainable condition that can still be improved with implantation of adequate soil and water conservation practices, mainly on remaining 38% of the sub-basin area. |
