Resumo: The logistics of any service presents classic management challenges such as sizing the fleet and generating the service order, reducing queues and increasing vehicle efficiency. Vehicle jam in loading/unloading wood is a major problem, as waiting times increase the cost of the project and reduce the efficiency of the service provider or equipment. Seeking to improve the planning and scheduling of activities of the forestry logistics, we have developed a system of forest optimization for the planning and control of wood transport. The system solves a set of forest operational problems to maximize the performance of these tasks under heuristic methods. In essence, these problems are associated with the sequence of transport, reduction of the size fleet, costs and queues for loading/unloading. The proposed system is able to optimize downtime and reduce operating costs via vehicle routing with a reliable solution. The results of the developed system reach the global optimum established by mathematical models in all tested scenarios and subproblems. After processing, the system provides a detailed activity execution schedule, addressing spatial and temporal issues without compromising the factory supply. Complementary analyzes indicate that cranes are the equipment that causes the most consumption of resources and emission of greenhouse gases. We conclude that the proposed system is concise to solve transport problems and presents consistent solutions. Finally, the balance between the optimal solution and processing time is still a paradigm.
