Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different doses of silicon acid on the in vitro development of physalis. Nodal segments of seedlings established in vitro, were inoculated in MS culture medium with different doses of silicic acid (0.0; 1.0; 2.0 and 4.0 g L-1). The completely randomized design, with 10 repetitions per treatment, each repetition composed of a bottle with three explants. After 30 days, the phytotechnical characteristics (shoot length, root length, stem diameter, number of leaves and number of shoots) and ultrastructural characterization were evaluated. The presence of silicon acid in the culture medium provided an improvement in the leaf structures of seedlings of physalis (Physalis peruviana).
