Resumo: The concern with environmental problems and toxicological aspects of the conventional synthesis of silver nanoparticles have motivated the study of natural products as alternative reducing agents that replace traditional compounds such as sodium borohydride. In this study, blackberry pulp was chosen as a bioreducing agent to evaluate the properties of silver nanoparticles obtained via green synthesis. The blackberry pulp is rich in anthocyanins and phenolic compounds that can act as reducers of silver ions. In addition, the presence of sugars and polysaccharides in the blackberry pulp can contribute to the stabilization of the silver nanoparticles produced. Due to these compounds present in the blackberry pulp, it was possible to obtain silver nanoparticles with antimicrobial action in a reaction medium without the presence of toxic reducers such as sodium borohydride. The results of statistical optimization indicate that the concentration of blackberry pulp in the reaction medium was the factor with the greatest impact on the diameter of silver nanoparticles. The increase in the concentration of bioreducing agent caused a drastic increase in the mean diameter of the silver nanoparticles. It was also possible to verify that the silver nanoparticles obtained via green synthesis at 50oC, 4h and 9.7% v/v of blackberry pulp in the reaction medium reached the highest inhibition halos for Escherichea coli K12 (Gram-negative) and Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 19117 (Gram- positive).
