Resumo: | Cleaning work is characterized as a dynamic and intensive activity, which requires great physical strength from the workers. Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSD) and Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) are diseases that can affect workers in the cleaning sector, caused by factors such as the use of inadequate postures in carrying out activities, repetitive movements, lack of organization in the work, among others. In the present study, the Ergonomic Work Analysis (AET) was applied to a group of outsourced employees who perform cleaning and general services within a Brazilian federal university. The study focused on the activity of transporting water with a bucket, for cleaning classrooms, bathrooms and laboratories in a university building. It was diagnosed that the equipment used is not correct for the activity, causing physical overload on the employees' arms and shoulders. As recommendations, the use of more appropriate equipment was suggested, such as newer and easier-to-use cleaning carts, more anatomical buckets for holding hands, as well as suggestions for changes in the organizational aspects of the work. |
