Resumo: Due to the environmental degradation caused by civil construction, there is a concern with finding alternative materials, in order to save natural resources and avoid the disordered deposition of waste. Thus, the objective was to analyze the technical feasibility of using tempered glass waste to replace coarse aggregate in concrete. The mass substitutions of gravel for glass followed the proportions of 0, 10, 20, 50, 70 and 100%. The granulometry of the glass residue, the consistency of the concrete in a fresh and hardened state, the specific mass of the wet concrete and its resistance to compression after 28 days were analyzed. The granulometry of the glass is comparable to that of the gravel, while the consistency of the concrete decreased with the increase in the replacement of the gravel by the glass residue. The results of specific density of the concrete and the resistance to compression, did not present significant variations in relation to the conventional concrete. Therefore, the use of this residue as a coarse aggregate in concrete has achieved positive technical and ecological results. However, a greater understanding of its execution is necessary, being indicated, a priori, only for non-structural purposes.
