Abstract: The current essay objects to perform an analyse about the relation between intellect and will based on Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologiae, in which Prima Pars as well as Prima Secundae will be hand in, through the questions 82 and 83 from Prima Pars and the Structure on Human Act (from Prima Secundae). This choice leads us into two difficulties concerning interpretations. The first is the thesis which there is a change in Aquinas’ point of view about the will after the 1270’s condemnation. Before 1270’s texts are based, in this prism, more Aristotelian. After 1270’s works are more voluntaristic. The second rough points may be presented in this question: are the Aquinas’ view more voluntaristic or intellectualistic? Our hypothesis is: firstly, there is no change between works before and after 1270’s condemnation, there is, in fact, some expansion of concepts; secondly, Aquinas’ view of will is more voluntaristic, but this kind of interpretation may guide to a misleading reading of Thomas Aquinas, because willing and intellect are mutually imbricated.
