Description: Acrisols and Alisols are found in different parts of the world and under different climatic conditions. Both soils have an argic horizon in the subsurface, although their physical, chemical and mineralogical properties are contrasting. Within the humid subtropical ecozone, these soils tend to occur mostly in hilly landscapes. This chapter focuses on characterizing Acrisols and Alisols of the humid subtropical ecozone, providing details on their properties, sites of occurrence and sustainable management systems under different degrees of management.
