Abstract: This text reflects on the childhood experience in the film The Florida Project (2017), by director Sean Baker, whose story involves a six-year-old girl and her young mother, Who live in a Road side hotel near the Disney park. It is anchored in the methodological approach of screen ethnography, from the symbologies present in the narrative that raise an a estheticsof reality versus fantasy experienced by the character Moonee and other friendly children. It problematizes, from the concepts of becoming-child, impossibilities and gender, the presence or absence of affection, solidarity and protection networks, friendship, play and the exercise of mother hood.
