Avaliação de impacto do Programa Trilha Jovem Iguassu sobre a empregabilidade dos jovens no município de Foz do Iguaçu-PR

Abstract

The age range most affected by the volatility of the economic cycles and growing unemployment rate is thegroup of people with ages between 15 and 29 years old. As an answer to that question, all around the worldemerge active labor market policies that search to rise the employability of the youth. This paper aims toevaluate the impact of a labor training program with that mission, the Trilha Jovem Iguassu project, which maingoal is the qualification of vulnerable youth to work at the touristic sector. For that, was made use of the methodof propensity score matching (PSM). It was identified that the project has positive and significative effects overthe employability of the participants, especially for women and those who complete all the stages of training.Those results help the decision-making process of policy makers involved with this or similar projects, as well ashighlight the outcomes obtained through projects with limited resources.
