Resumo: Brazil is recognized worldwide for the production and commercialization of ornamental rocks, one of which is quartzite, the processing of ornamental rocks generates around 3,260,000 tons of waste annually, which causes serious environmental impacts. With that in mind, the present research aimed to develop and evaluate wood-cement panels, using rubber tree wood (Hevea Brasiliensis) mineralized with aluminum sulfate (Al2(SO4)3) and different percentages of quartzite residue (0, 10, 20 and 40%). Chemical analyzes of the wood were carried out, as well as the physical and mechanical properties of the panel. Portland cement CPV-ARI, rubber tree particles (Hevea Brasiliensis, aluminum sulfate (Al2(SO4)3) for mineralization and calcium chloride (CaCl2) were used to produce the panels. The water/cement ratio was approximately 40%, and wood/cement 36.37% Replacement of quartzite residue caused a reduction in water absorption (AA) and thickness swelling (IE) values.There was no improvement in the internal bonding property. Higher MOE and MOR values were found for the panels with 20% quartzite replacing the cement. this research contributes to the development of new techniques and materials in civil construction, presenting conclusive results that prove or not the efficiency of the proposed practice. It is a widely used product and therefore generates a large amount of waste that is not always reused for other purposes.
