Abstract: The bioenergy generation process constantly searches for more sustainable sources. Sources that contribute to reducing negative impacts on the environment and that promote an increasingly synergistic and effective energy generation and production process. This work aims, through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies and techniques, to establish environmental premises for the operation of a forestry plant to supply a thermoelectric plant based on eucalyptus biomass located in the Rio Grande Hydrographic Basin in the municipality of São João del Rei in the State of Minas Gerais. The LCA made it possible to assess the environmental aspects and potential impacts associated with the implementation in question, carried out from cradle to grave. The information obtained throughout the process was processed in the SIMAPRO software and both the information obtained in the LCA and the Life Cycle Impact Assessment (IACV) resulted in the environmental feasibility of implementing the thermoelectric plant with a potential capacity to generate 50MW of energy.
