Descrição: This paper presents a superstructure framework for the optimization of an integrated sugarcane-microalgae biorefinery. The superstructure is developed as a mixed integer linear programming model (MILP) to minimize the carbon dioxide balance. A microalgae biorefinery considering different processing stages for the production of biodiesel, bioethanol, gasoline, renewable diesel, biogas, biochar, electric power and thermal energy was used to validate the optimization model. The results show that for the regions studied, the liquefaction route is chosen for the conversion of the microalgae and the bagasse is used to supply energy in the process and for the production of pellets. The results of the study carried out show that the carbon dioxide emissions avoided represents 23.56% of the goal proposed by the Colombian government by 2030 and 46% of the total carbon dioxide emissions.
