Abstract: | Cinema is a cultural production that can take the viewer to a new world, awakening reflective and critical thinking about the relationships in our reality. Therefore, it is an interesting path when we talk about teacher training, as it allows them to understand the reality that surrounds them. However, it is important to pay close attention to the work so that it is possible to identify the elements that allow for in-depth debates about society. That is why this work aims to take an approach to Science, Technology, Society and Environment (CTSA) based on the film “The boy who discovered the wind”. To this end, an analysis was carried out from a Marxist perspective, bringing a historical-dialectical materialist reflection, which is a method of investigation that dialogues with historical sciences, allowing the understanding of the world based on its historical and social transformations. As a result, despite being a great cinematographic work, the film brings elements of the CTSA approach in a superficial way, focusing on the individual struggle. This shows the strong presence of the cultural industry and how cinema is still a factor of domination by the oppressing class, creating the illusion that human beings are individual beings and, therefore, capable of overcoming their own challenges. |
